About the Power of the Pen Publications

At the Power of the Pen Publications we help turn Authors’ dreams into reality by publishing their writings by production and dissemination of their literature or information for public view.  We review not only the quality but also the genre of their work. The Power of the Pen specializes in books written by individuals with a social conscious exhibited through their writings which have the goals of helping individuals, strengthening families, or building stronger communities.   While we pride ourselves in maintaining lower acceptance barriers than any other traditional publisher, we take publishing serious but we also accept works that meet our requirements but need a little polish necessary for completion.

For works written independently of the publisher, writers can first submit a query letter or proposal directly to us by the contact page on our website http://www.melodieshuler.com/ or email Melodie Shuler at melodie@melodieshuler.com.  If the initial contact letter is of interest we will request submission of a manuscript.  Submissions are reviewed, then evaluated on the potential to sell and compared to record sales for similar topics.  If accepted we will promptly contact you and discuss the terms of a contract.

Our contract includes no author fees, period.  We are only interested in a book's publishing rights. We do not want any other rights, unless an author insists that we carry them on his/her behalf. Movie rights, audio rights, TV rights, merchandising rights, the copyright, they all remain the author's.  Our contracts also expire after a number of years, unlike the life term that most other traditional publishers require.
